I thought we were like becoming friends, Princess Aeria!
It would fit perfectly for our characters to take a little trip to Ryur. Its practically in the works in our story.
Are you ditching me already?

Of course not! Although I never thought of Aeria taking Marina to Ryur. It'd make perfect sense though.
Although later on if I could get people involved, I'd like to do a storyline there where, well, basically, not everything is as she left it. I kinda had the idea that given it's quite often implied her family and kingdom were quite power hungry, her father has since been trading for weapons to wage war on the rest of Ryur. So when she does return, she finally has to face that her father and family have been doing wrong. I even had the idea that the storyline would involve her eventually being stripped of her title and lands for opposing her father, because Aeria losing the fact she's a princess would be really interesting. But since the end of the storyline would mean no more sweet innocent naive Aeria, since she'd have to learn to fight back, I wanted to save it until she'd gotten enough development in this stage of her life. ![]() |

That sounds interesting.
Who would your father be buying or getting these energy weapons from? If somehow it is from the old regime (Remnant Empire) then perhaps it may be an opportune time to have our new Imp Stestes show their presence there and keep the other Imps at bay and out of what is transpiring on Ryur. Sort of like in Star Trek where they don't interfere with a planet's development, other than to take out the elements that have thrust it out of balance. No, the New States would not be interested in a take over. But they certainly wouldn't want the old regime to gain more ground and systems, as the New States are only interested in taking over the rest of the old Empire. So if that were the case and Aeria found herself opposing her dad and fight for the underdogs, then she would not have to worry about her father aquiring additional and more powerful energy weapons. She would fight for Ryur with what already exists on Ryur. Just that Aeria will have more knowledge of modern warfare and tactics from her experiences off world. Just some ideas that you stirred up in my head with your post..lol

Well, I was going to try and come up with some natural resource on Ryur that was worthless to them, but invaluable for starship production, so any number of
people could be supplying the weapons. The Remnant would be a nice way to get the New States involved, although I was just planning space pirates (since
they've attacked Ryur before).
It's a storyline I don't want to do for a while, so it's got lots of adjustments that can be made. It'd also be interesting to see if anybody wanted to create a native Ryurian to fight alongside Aeria, so she's not on her own. If not, I might do it. But again, long way off. Kinda have the idea her father is forcing the people to mine for this mineral, whatever it is, and generally at the same time taxing them and bleeding them dry to pay for more mining tools, meaning Aeria and the people she rallies up really have to fight for the rights of the people. Ending up with a whole robbing-from-the-rich-and-giving-to-the-poor kinda motif going on. Aeria becoming a Robin Hood style outlaw is so unexpected it'd be pretty fun to do. As for her knowledge off world, part of the reason she'd be seen as an effective leader. The other being people rallying behind her because they believe she has a claim to the throne, which in a very traditional medieval style world would mean volumes to them. It's one thing to back an outlaw, but quite another to cheer on a princess ![]() |

If you want Tria could sound the allarm on the weapons trade, since she was shuttling goods for the old Empire for some time.

Yeah, that'd be cool. Or maybe she could let the New States know, I think Aeria should find out straight from her father.
But can I just stress this was an idea for a plot a long way off first ![]() |

It never hurts to do rough planning early on.

No, I know. I just didn't want people to get too invested in a plot we probably wouldn't do for AGES. If at all, because it would significantly change
Aeria's character. Which would be for the best in the long run, but it's kinda fun watching everybody's reactions to how she is now

WHAT?!!
Now this sucks!.. I just like payed for a full tank of fuel, readying for a long trip to Ryur. You know how much fuel costs, princess Aeria! Like...
Oh man, am I so like broke now... I though...
God!...

Need a loan, Miss DeVoe? I think you'll find my interest very reasonable.

Hmmm... somehow, I get the feeling like that loan will wind up costing me more than credits... like my virginity...
lol
Naw.. I can write that off on a few runs. Its just that I used my own personal credit line for that fill up. But logging in a few trillion light years on my regular runs should get all that reimbursed in no time. Besides, my grandparents own Setril Enterprises. Its just that I want to show them that I can operate on my own and work for the company straight up and up on the books. |

We can just go on holiday to somewhere even better than Ryur

Hmm...That's an idea to keep in mind.
Anywho, how about a pre-visit to Ryur (little week vacation) with little of what you speak about already happening...like the start of something which Aeria finds..not right in some way. But she at this point doesn't question it and lets it pass. A sort of little hint of what she will eventually open her eyes to and discover later on when she is more mature. If done the right way, it would all tie in. Naturally, Marina will have no clue as to anything out of the ordinary, as she will have a sort of limited access to royal matters. But marina will be a guest and treated as such..you know, sort of get pampered by way of proxy. Hey come on now..Marina is the princess's' friend and guest. Right? *pouts*... I miss being pampered.

Heh. That could work. And be kinda funny. Maybe Marina cottons on that things are bit iffy but doesn't want to say anything to Aeria, because she knows
Aeria wouldn't be able to handle it.
And Marina having to act perfectly formally as Aeria's friend would be funny ![]() |

Well, as far as Ryur's policies go..Marina was schooled to be a senator/diplomat you know. That means that she can only observe really, as she did not
pursue that career for now. And however Ryur conducts personal (planet side) politics; she figures it is not her business, as she is not there to represent
anyone or negotiate for anyone. She is a friend and guest of Aeria on her home world and will respect that..with all proper etiquetes. Remember, marina also
came from a Great House. Her slang and such was picked up abroad at the Universities where she studied.
In other words, Marina may see things not jiving with her own morals on Ryur, but this is not her home world and she has no say really. However Ruyr (or Aria's father) governs, marina will have to respect that, so she won't really harp on Aeria, as it is not her place. But if Aeria asks Marina later for her views and maybe help...Marina could very well help Aeria. But Marina will not try to force her views on how things should be to Aeria. Marina will help Aeria come up with her own views, objectives and policies. Marina can be Aeria's confidant and friend. But it will be Aeria who will come up to the plate and do what is right. Marina will support her. This sounds OK? |
|||
Aeria Nasha |
|||
|
That makes sense.
I just meant Marina likes her slang, and nobody will understand it. It would be funny to see Marina being treated similarly to Aeria anyway though. Maybe she could learn to understand why Aeria is the way she is ![]() |

Marina DeVoe wrote:Silly girl. Make up your mind. You could solve that problem very easily with the right man in your life. Not me mind you. I like being pampered myself too much for that to work.

She can get pampered without the 'right' man, Mr Burke
Because she has the right friend! ![]() |

It's different, Princess, when the pampering is done out of love rather than servitude. Someday I hope you learn the difference.

I've come to conclude it is not so much the right man, whom Miss DeVoe needs, but her choice of a right man. In other words; she'll chose a man that
makes her tick....you know; move her.
